Apple Walnut Crisp Healthy Dessert Recipe

  • 6 cup apples
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup unbleached flour
  • 4 tbsp light margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Apple Walnut Crisp Healthy Dessert Recipe Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Prepare a 8" square pan with cooking spray and flour. Arrange apples in prepared pan; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until crumbly. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples. Bake for 30 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is crisp.

Vanilla Berry Parfait Healthy Breakfast Recipe

  • 2 (8 ounce) containers vanilla yogurt
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen mixed berries -- or berry of your choice
  • 2 tbsp crushed graham crackers
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Vanilla Berry Parfait Healthy Breakfast Recipe Directions:

Cover the bottoms of two small glasses with a layer of yogurt. Cover layer with berries. Repeat until both glasses are full, ending with a fruit layer. Sprinkle with graham crackers and nutmeg.

Tasty Biscuit Healthy Snack Recipe

  • Rolled oats - 6 tbsps
  • Whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Low fat butter - 5 to 6 tbsps
  • Milk - 1/2 cup

Tasty Biscuit Healthy Snack Recipe Directions:


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 baking sheets.
Grind the rolled oats in a blender down to medium-coarse.
Combine the ground oats, whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add in the butter, and make sure its mixed in well. Best done in a food processor or electric mixer.
Add in 1/3 cup of the milk and mix well. Add enough milk so that the ingredients form a dough that just holds together.
Divide the dough into 3 or 4 portions and roll out one portion at a time to about 1/4 inch thick. Then cut out round sections about 3 inch wide.
Transfer the cut rounds to the baking sheets, and poke some holes into the rounds.
Bake the biscuits for about 10 to 12 minutes until they're golden brown.

Heart Healthy Recipe: Oriental Vegetable Stir-Fry

  • 1 tsp. peanut or safflower oil
  • ½ c. diagonally sliced green onions
  • ½ garlic clove, minced
  • 1 c. diagonally sliced celery(thin)
  • ¾ c. snow peas
  • ½ c. diced red bell pepper
  • 1/3 c. water2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
  • Dash of salt and pepper

Heart Healthy Recipe Directions


Heat oil over high heat in skillet or wok. Add onions and garlic; stir-fry for 1 minute. Add celery, peas, and pepper; stir quickly and often for 2 minutes.Combine water, soy sauce, and cornstarch in small bowl; stir to dissolve and pour over mixture. Add ginger, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thickened. Heart Healthy Oriental Vegetable Stir-Fry Serves 2.

Greens with Tofu

  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 blocks firm tofu (12 oz. each), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Greens with Tofu Recipe Directions:


Wash the Swiss chard and tear it into pieces, removing the stems.

Heat a little oil in a frying pan, and stir-fry the green onions, along with the paprika, ginger, and 2 cloves of garlic.

Stir in the soy sauce, tofu, and peas.

In a separate frying pan, heat a tablespoon of oil very hot.

Stir in the black pepper.

Add the Swiss chard, still slightly wet, and toss to coat with the oil and pepper.

Cover the pan and let it steam for 30 seconds.

Spread the greens on a serving platter and pour the tofu mixture on top. Enjoy Greens with Tofu.
