Homemade Salsa Recipes

This homemade salsa recipe makes 1 1/2 quarts and will add a zesty homemade salsa flavor to any meal.
  • 10 Roma tomatoes, seeded, small dice (2 cups)
  • 1 small red onion, small dice (1 cup)
  • 2 to 3 small green onions, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 2 medium jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped (2 tablespoons),
  • 6 Serrano chili peppers, seeded and finely chopped (1/2 cup),
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro (loosely packed)
  • 3 large cloves garlic, crushed and minced (1 tablespoon)
  • 15 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 4 teaspoons Chile Powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Homemade Salsa Recipe Directions

Prepare all vegetables above and place in a medium size bowl, gently stirring as each addition is made. Add tomato sauce, Olde Westport Border Bandito's Salsa Spice Blend, salt (to taste) and lime juice. Stir mixture carefully to avoid breaking up the tomatoes. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving allowing flavors to blend. Enjoy this homemade salsa recipe!!

Homemade Salsa Recipes

This homemade salsa recipe makes about 1 quart of fiery salsa.


4 lb Ripe, red tomatoes, peeled, -seeded and chopped
2 c Chopped red onions
4 Green onions, minced
1 tb Garlic, minced
1/2 c Apple cider vinegar
8 jalapeno chiles, cored,-seeded, minced
6 serrano chiles, minced
2 tb New Mexican red -chile powder
1/2 ts Crushed cumin
1 1/2 ts Crushed dried oregano
1 ts To 2 ts salt
1 c Crushed Pomi tomatoes
1/2 c Minced cilantro

Homemade Salsa Recipe Directions

Combine the fresh tomatoes, red and green onions, the garlic and
vinegar in a 5-quart saute pan; simmer for 10 minutes to reduce some
of the tomato liquid. Add the chiles, chile powder, cumin, oregano,
salt and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat
and stir in the cilantro. Let sit for 3 hours than serve and enjoy this homemade salsa recipe!!

Here is another excellent homemade salsa recipe

2 28oz cans of Contadina Crushed Tomatoes
1 16oz can of Contadina Tomato Sauce
4 cloves of garlic, diced
1 4oz can of Old El Paso green chiles
1 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
1/3 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp of ground rosemary
1 medium green pepper, diced
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 bunch of fresh cilantro leaves, diced
2 tomatoes, diced
Any diced jalapeno pepper or specialty hot pepper

Homemade Salsa Recipes Directions

Prepare all salsa ingredients and place in a large bowl and mix well. Let the homemade salsa sit overnight in the fridge. You will have the best results if you use very fresh products. I have had the best results when I use Contadina crushed tomatoes, they have a great texture. Serve and enjoy this homemade salsa recipe

And another Fresh Homemade Salsa Recipe

3 Garden Type tomatoes seeded and chopped
1 sm Cucumber seeded and diced
1 sm Onion diced
1 Clove of garlic crushed
1 tb Cilantro
1 Thai hot pepper crushed or small Jalapeno chile chopped; (adjust Heat to taste)
1/2 ts Salt
One small lime; Juice of

Fresh Homemade Salsa Recipe Directions

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Deseed and devein the chili peppers. Let the homemade salsa sit for a few hours to let the flavors mix. Serve and enjoy this Fresh Homemade Salsa Recipe!!
